Celebrating 70 Years of the Swiss Geotechnical Society



The Swiss Geotechnical Society was honoured to welcome a remarkable number of participants to the celebration marking its 70th anniversary. The event brought together members and guests for an evening of inspiration, reflection, and forward-looking dialogue.


       

Special thanks are extended to the distinguished speakers, Prof. Lyesse Laloui and Prof. Johan Gaume, whose insightful presentations introduced cutting-edge perspectives and technologies shaping the future of geotechnical engineering.

​The Society also announced a leadership transition: Prof. Alexander Puzrin (ETH Zurich) was elected as the new President. The SGS expresses its sincere appreciation to Laurent Pitteloud for his outstanding service over the past nine years and is pleased that he will continue to contribute to the Executive Board with his valuable experience.





The evening concluded with a festive apéro, offering a welcome opportunity for exchange and celebration among colleagues and friends.
